Cold and flu season has us going through box after box of tissues. Before throwing the empty box away, try making one of these tissue box crafts (or both!) with your kids.
For both tissue box crafts, we took the edges of the box apart—this makes it easier to access the inside and add your accessories. We also removed the clear plastic opening from the tissue box.
Submarine Tissue Box Craft
Transport to a world beneath the ocean with this submarine-themed tissue box.
What we used to make the Submarine tissue box craft:
- Craft paper
- Glitter paper
- Pipe cleaners
- Pom-poms
- Beads
- String
- Hot glue
- Scissors
After taking the sides of the tissue box apart, we cut out craft paper and glued it to the sides, making a hole for the window.
Optional: Cover the opening with plastic wrap and glue down before the craft paper.
Use blue craft paper or glitter glue to cover the inside of the box.
Cut out fish and hang using thread or string.
Bend pipe cleaners to look like sea plants or coral. Glue down.
Car Wash Tissue Box Craft
This tissue box car wash makes the perfect accessory for toy cars.
What we used to make our car wash:
- Craft paper
- Fabric
- Pipe cleaners
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- Markers
After taking the sides of the tissue box apart, we cut out craft paper and glued it to the sides, making a hole for the window. We also covered the inside with craft paper too!
Create different layers of your car wash with pipe cleaners and fabric:
- Cut strips into fabric for the entrance to the car wash.
- Use pipe cleaners to make spirals to clean the car.
- Use glitter or blue pipe cleaners to act as “water”.
Be creative! Your car wash can have anything you want on the inside!
